Where To Begin

We (Cheryl and I) arrived in Ghana on Wednesday, April 1st. My April fools joke was........no adoption decree. Which means that Precious isn't officially a Larsen yet. I was upset but hopeful that Kingsley would be able to get our decree within the next few days, so that I could still file our I600 while I was in Ghana. But as fate would have it, it wasn't meant to be.

I was however able to spend a lot of time with Precious, meet her mother, see Cheryl meet her girls, watch first hand just how hard Kingsley works, and fall in love with all the children at Luckyhill.

As for our adoption, we ran into a small snag. I won't go into detail, but it is going to take us a little longer before we can bring our sweet Precious home. I have faith that things will work out, and that she will come home.

A Desperate Plea for a Desperate Child
The following is an email that Kingsley the director of the orphanage where Precious is staying sent.

Hello,This is the photos of William, He was burnt some few weeks ago, and his condition is very critical, he can not walk or place feets on the ground. I have sent him to the hospital but still there's no improvement.Kingsley.

Please be aware that the pictures below are of Williams feet, they are graphic

His name is William. He was running and playing, and ran into a field where grass had been burning. Obviously, the fire was still smouldering. They ran out of pain medication, and can only afford to change the bandages every 3 days. If you can spare anything, please click here and donate to Luckyhill through paypal so this child can receive proper medical care. He's about 9 years old, and such a sweet boy.

Karen and the rest of the Larsen crew:
I'm SO sorry. I heard what happened and couldn't believe it! I have faith that Precious was meant to be with you too, but that doesn't take away ANY of the hurt that you're feeling right now. Words always fail at a time like this. We're praying for strength for your whole family.

Thanks for the post about William too. I'm lucky to get to be the one who goes to be with him. We just need to collect all the supplies we can in this short amount of time, and then God will do the rest!

We're still praying for you and for Precious and all of her sisters.

I am so sorry! I am crying as I am writing this. For you...for Precious...for William...for all the children who need good homes. Thank you for the story about William....we immediately sent a donation. I saw his feet and thought of Connor's hands and the enormous amount of pain. Ohhhh... I love ya dearly and my prayers are with you!
